We'd like to introduce you to 9 year old Colman and his tongue buddy, Curtis! You could say they're best friends. Coleman arrived in snowy Minnesota on November 30th, 2019 from Missouri. He's quite the gentleman with his frosted face and zest for life. Curtis isn't as much of a gentleman and will just let drool roll off him onto your pants, hand, couch, or whatever else is nearby. Coleman is a velcro baby meaning he wants to be with his humans ALL of the time. Let's just say that he appreciates the pandemic because his foster mom is always home! Coleman has separation anxiety so this pandemic has been a big win for him. He'll need someone to help him become confident when left alone. Coleman is a champion snuggler on the couch (watch out, he'll steal the blankets) and is happy to watch T.V. (current favorites are Bridgerton and Yellowstone) with you on these cold winter days. Curtis will even join in on the fun and rest on your arm. Awww! On warmer days and in the summer, Coleman absolutely loves running around the backyard and basking in the sun, IF you're outside with him. Though he runs well, and this will sound strange, he's not always well balanced when standing and struggles using the stairs. A home without stairs is not a requirement as long as he's got someone to help him safely go up and down - a lift aid harness would do the trick! He's fine with other dogs, but be aware having a dog buddy doesn't ease his separation anxiety. We do think calmer dogs would be better for him so he's not at risk of being knocked over. He is perfectly content as an only dog, though he has lived with a cat in the past. He's been exposed to children and overall has done well. It is good to mention that young ones that scream at random and make a lot of noise are not his favorite to be around. If he had an option to turn off a hearing aid like a Grandpa at Christmas with kids running around, he would! Coleman is fairly healthy, but does have Mast Cell Tumors, a type of cancer. Boxer owners are typically pretty familiar with this and honestly, if your dog is going to get cancer, this is the one you want him to get as it's fairly easy to handle and he can live quite some time with it. This doesn't dampen his zest for life at all! Coleman enjoys chewing on bully sticks, taking daily walks, and chasing tennis balls. He will occasionally put on a fashion show trying on all his clothes for his foster mom and likes to sport a bandana with his name on it when he hits the local breweries or when shopping for snacks. Whether you're blessed with him for six months or three years, MNBR can guarentee you'll have the best time of your life with him! He truly is a pure joy to have around and Curtis promises to make you smile daily!
