Jessie is by far the easiest foster I have had, super happy and super laid back about everything we try with her. Want to take her somewhere? Pick her up, put her in the vehicle and she just lays there and naps. Need to grind her nails? Wait for her to lay down for a nap and you can grind them while she sleeps, she doesn’t care. Need to bathe her? Put her in the tub and she stands there. She is not vocal either, I work from home and she naps while I work, but is always ready to play when I’m not working. She is completely fine being left alone in the house outside of a crate as well, we give her a kong of peanut butter to enjoy, she wanders around for a few minutes once she realizes you are not there otherwise she enjoys her kong and naps.
Health wise she is doing good, She gets about 4 walks a day, some a little longer than others. When she first arrived she had a little bit of a limp and skipped her back legs more. She is still a little stiff when she gets up from a nap but definitely less limping and skipping when on the move. She is not a jumper with her soreness but will occasionally put her front legs up on the couch or bed when she wants more attention and has tried to crawl up on the couch a few times more recently.
Jessie still prefers to be a single lady, she does stare at dogs when she sees them and will go to the end of the leash, but she is fairly easy to move along and can easily be coaxed with treats as well.
*Update 8-5-2020* Jessie is a sweet girl who just wants to love and be loved. She is happy to receive pets from any human she has met so far. She enjoys the simple things in life and overall is happy with an easy going day consisting of lots of naps. Her favorite time of the day is meal time where she will give you little bunny hops to show her excitement. She does enjoy walks to stretch out her legs but can't go too far because of the soreness in her back left leg and hips. Jessie loves her big comfy bed but will sometimes choose the floor for the firmness and coolness it has to offer. She has a few favorite toys she likes to chew on and play fetch including her purple hedgehog! Jessie is not a fan of other dogs and becomes hyper focused on them if she sees one, so she would much prefer a home where she is the only animal to receive all the love and attention. Some of her other quirks include a long hanging tongue, sloppy kisses, howling at the sound of a siren, and the cutest head tilts if she hears a noise she can't identify.
My name is Jessie. My beginnings in this world were sad but I am hoping for a happy ending! I was used as a breeding mama and had many litters and rescue in Alabama finally gained my freedom. I was with them for nearly six months waiting for my forever home but I was overlooked as I have some back and leg issues and I am picky with my doggy friends.
I was so overbred that I have some soreness in my hips and back resulting from being bred a lot and having many puppies so I will need some supplements and medications for the rest of my life. I am scared of being jumped on, which makes me afraid of other dogs so I would love to spend absorb all the attention from my humans. I love the little humans as they are my size! I am a tiny petite girl!
